ESS Ecology has performed well in co-ordinating survey work and managing the ornithological assessment aspects of FEPA compliance for the North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm between 2006 and present.

In particular, ESS Ecology assisted RWE Npower Renewables Limited (NRL) to consolidate previous ornithological data going back to 2001 from other organisations and has provided excellent statistical analyses and advice in order to provide the Licensing Authority and its statutory consultees with a reasoned argument for discharging the formal Licence conditions.  ESS continues to assist NRL in dialogue and negotiation with the Licensing Authority.

ESS Ecology were commissioned to provide a Habitat Suitability Index Assessment for Great Crested Newts for our proposed new housing development at Glenfarg, near Perth.  The assessment was required by Perth and Kinross Council Planning Department in response to a letter of objection received from an adjoining neighbour.

I selected ESS Ecology after they submitted the lowest quotation and also as they were ble to provide the required report to meet our timescale.  Ed Robinson who dealt with our project was very informative and knowledgeable to all our communications and provided ongoing information on progress on a regular basis.  A copy of the draft report was forwarded to me to approve prior to receiving full copies of the finished assessment to pass to Perth and Kinross Council.

I am happy with the quality of the assessment provided and that it satisfied the requirements of Perth and Kinross Council Planning.  I consider the cost of the assessment was very reasonable.

I am happy with the service I have received from ESS Ecology and would have no hesitation to use them again if we were to require their services in the future.
